Steps to Cancel Friend Requests on Facebook
On Laptop
- Log in to your Facebook account using your browser on either a Mac or a PC.
- Find and click on the icon that appears to be the silhouette of two figures in the upper right-hand corner of the webpage.
- Select “See All” at the end of the menu. It displays your friend’s requests (if they exist) and also suggestions of friends to add on Facebook.
- Select “View Sent Requests” at the top of the page that displays.
- On the next screen on the next page, you’ll see a list of all friend requests you’ve sent. Select the friend request you’d like to cancel by moving your mouse over the tab marked “Sent Friend Request”. Choose”Cancel Request” from the drop-down menu “Cancel Request” option from the drop-down menu and end your friend request with the individual.
On mobile device
- Log into Facebook.com using either your iPhone or Android phone.
- Just click on the outline icon that shows two people.
- When the requests of your friends appear in the list, click the down button on the right side of the Request tab. Click the down arrow to the right of the Request tab, then select “View Sent Requests”. You can switch between sent as well as received requests by clicking the downward arrow.
- Check the friend request(s) you’ve sent and click “Cancel.”
